COPE Ontario stands with striking Oxfam Canada workers

COPE Ontario wishes to express its solidarity with Oxfam Canada workers who have been on strike since June 11th.

As a union that represents workers at several non-profits, we echo CUPE Ontario‘s sentiment: Oxfam Canada cannot couch themselves the language of feminism and progressive values, while failing to implement those principles in action.

Oxfam workers are asking their employer to address issues like provisions for gender-affirming care, domestic violence protections, and a fair wage in line with the cost-of-living.
An organization that fights for justice and dignity abroad has to be willing to extend the same to the people who make that work possible.

COPE Ontario stands with Oxfam workers and CUPE 2722.

To take action, follow this link to send a message to Oxfam Canada ED Lauren Ramon and the Board of Directors urging them to get back to the table and settle a fair deal: https://cupe.ca/oxfam
