Local 96 receives arbitration award at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital

COPE Local 96 members at TBRH receive arbitration award.  This award,   issued by a panel chaired by Arbitrator Steven Raymond, provided the union with the majority of its outstanding proposals and did not award any of the hospital’s demands.

This interest arbitration was convened to settle the remaining issues in dispute between the Union and the Employer. The collective agreement had a term of April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2011.

Wage increases retroactive to April 1, 2009 (2%) and April 1, 2010 (2%)

Increase of shift premium to $1.05 and weekend premium to $1.05 Effective April 1, 2009

Increase of shift premium to $1.10 and weekend premium to $1.10 Effective April 1, 2010

Additional adjustments effective two weeks following the date of this award:

Added laser surgery to Vision Care Plan and increase vision care to $250 every 24 months

Six weeks vacation after 21 years of service
