COPE Announces Labour College Scholarships
National President, Serge Cadieux, has announced the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union will grant two scholarships of $10,000 each as of June 2012. Many COPE members are interested in enrolling in a labour education program because they consider it the key to acquiring the skills needed to challenge the power of employers. Starting in 2012, the scholarships will be offered to COPE members who wish to enrol in one of the Labour College programs. The scholarships will mainly cover registration fees and accommodation for two COPE members. Local Unions will remain responsible for the other costs associated with the attendance to the program, such as transportation and lost wages. Questions regarding the scholarship program should be directed to Francine Doyon fdoyon@copesepb.ca or Valerie Leblanc vleblanc@copesepb.ca
